About the practice

A builder's hands, an architect's eye.

Custom Contracts & Construction is a residential building contractor based just outside Omagh, working with families, self-builders and design teams across Tyrone and the wider North West.

Since 2022 we've focused on a small number of considered projects each year — one-off homes, thoughtful extensions and full renovations. The work is finished by tradespeople we know and trust, on schedules we can actually keep.

Our aim is simple: leave every site with a home the client is proud to live in and a build story worth telling. No shortcuts, no surprises.

How we work

A calm, five-stage build process.

Most surprises on a build come from unclear expectations, not the work itself. Ours is a slow-start, steady-finish process — designed to keep everyone informed from the first meeting to the day you get the keys.

  1. Step One

    Consultation

    An unhurried first conversation — on site, at your kitchen table or over a call. We listen to what you're trying to build, share what's realistic, and decide together whether we're a good fit before anyone signs anything.

  2. Step Two

    Design

    We work alongside your architect — or introduce one from our network — to turn the brief into drawings, specifications and a properly costed budget. Every material choice is talked through before it's ordered.

  3. Step Three

    Planning

    Planning submissions, building control, structural engineer sign-off and site logistics. A written programme so you know what happens in each week of the build, and what we need from you along the way.

  4. Step Four

    Build

    The site is run by a lead carpenter who's on it every day. Weekly progress updates with photos, an open door if you want to walk the works, and a single number to call when a question comes up.

  5. Step Five

    Handover

    A proper walk-through of the finished home, a full snag list closed out before you move in, and an aftercare year on all our work. We stay in touch long after the site fence comes down.
